About us

IamFluidics® is a pioneering high-tech company that develops microencapsulation solutions for life science applications. Our patented microparticle technologies enable the creation of next-gen products for (3D) cell culture, biologic long-acting release injectables, and novel enteric microcapsules. Our mission is to deliver high-performance and healthier microencapsulation solutions to improve people’s lives and protect our planet. We achieve this by focusing on biocompatible, plastic-free, and scalable technologies. “We revolutionize microparticles.”

We are seeking a Cell Culture & Bioprocessing Expert with an independent working ethos and strong process-oriented skills to lead the development, scale-up, and implementation of our technologies. This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in establishing state-of-the-art cell culture and encapsulation platforms.

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing, setting up, and optimizing processes for scalable production and encapsulation of live biotherapeutics, including mammalian cells and probiotics. Working independently or leading small teams, you will ensure seamless integration of bioreactor systems, infrastructure, and analytical workflows.

Our main office is based in Enschede, but we are looking to expand our footprint. If you’re a proactive and ambitious expert who thrives on taking initiative, this is your chance to play a pivotal role in setting up a cutting-edge lab in the Randstad region. Your expertise and drive could shape the future of our operations in this key area!

Process development & scale-up:

  • Lead the setup, validation, and maintenance of bioprocess systems and associated infrastructure for 2D (microcarriers) and 3D (spheroids/organoids) mammalian cell culture;

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration of upstream processes (e.g., in-air microfluidics) into the (3D) culture pipeline;

  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement improvements to enhance scalability and consistency.

Encapsulation technologies:

  • Co-develop and implement microencapsulation methods for (stem) cells, spheroids/organoids, and live biotherapeutics (including next-generation probiotics);

  • Design and perform application tests on maintaining viability, functionality, and stability of encapsulated biotherapeutics under various transport and storage conditions.

Leadership & documentation:

  • Maintain thorough experimental documentation and prepare detailed technical reports;

  • Actively contribute to cross-functional team discussions and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Effectively communicate with multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders and present results and reports to ensure solid collaboration and understanding.

About you

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant industrial working experience post-graduation;

  • Expertise in bioreactor systems setup, validation, and operation for mammalian cells and/or live biotherapeutics;

  • Aseptic techniques and single-use processing systems;

    Experience in the following areas is appreciated:

    o Proficiency in microencapsulation technologies, including process development and optimization for cells and/or probiotics;

    o Background in aseptic techniques and single-use systems;

    o Analytical skills, including cell suspension analysis (e.g., FACS, CFU counting, functional assays);

    o Familiarity with release testing and in vitro models for evaluating encapsulated products;

    o Previous work in a GMP or industrial R&D setting is a plus.

Key attributes:

  • Independent working ethos with the ability to lead and execute projects autonomously;

  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced environment;

  • Proficient in laboratory techniques and equipment operation. Willingness to perform hands-on experiments and lab work for extended periods;

  • Strong leadership skills in order to effectively oversee and guide junior researchers and interns.
